What is CABN?

CABN designs and manufactures high-performance, prefabricated homes that are net-zero ready, delivered and assembled quickly with sustainability at the core.

Where is CABN based?

We are proudly based in Ontario, Canada, with fabricating out of a 93,000 square foot facility.

What makes CABN homes different?

 CABNs are built using advanced materials and precision manufacturing. They are energy-efficient, designed for rapid installation, and can be delivered as primary homes, secondary units, or for commercial and community use.

When was CABN founded?

CABN was founded in 2021 with a clear mission: to make sustainable, high-performance housing more accessible, efficient, and scalable. Our founders saw a critical need for homes that could be built faster, perform better, and support both people and the planet. Born in Ontario, CABN brings together innovation in design, advanced manufacturing, and a deep commitment to sustainability. We’ve grown from a bold idea into a full-scale housing solution that supports individuals, developers, and communities across Canada.

Is CABN B Corp certified, LEED certified, or Green Building certified?

Not yet—but we’re working on it. Certifications like B Corp, LEED, and other Green Building standards require evidence-based reporting, a track record of impact, and a deeply rooted commitment to sustainability. As a young and fast-growing company, we’re actively building that foundation and are in the process of working toward these certifications as part of our long-term growth. What does CABN offer?

CABN offers a full suite of high-performance models, ranging from single-bedroom units ideal for hospitality clients to spacious four-bedroom residences. We serve both residential and commercial applications, working with homeowners, builders, developers, and municipalities to bring smart, sustainable housing solutions to life.

In addition to our residential homes, we offer commercial buildings that use the same advanced technology and design principles as our single-family models. We’re also excited to be launching a multi-residential unit in late 2025.

To complement our core lineup, we offer a selection of accessory structures, including HUTTs, GAR.AGEs, and CAR.PORTs, giving clients even more flexibility to build complete, cohesive spaces.

What’s the difference between CABN’s pre-designed models and custom builds?

CABN primarily focuses on pre-designed models—these are thoughtfully developed homes and commercial units that are optimized for speed, performance, and cost-efficiency. Our pre-designed units cannot be changed in terms of structural elements, which allows us to streamline production and keep timelines tight.

That said, we know some clients have a unique vision or specific requirements. We reserve a limited number of spots in our production line each year for custom projects. If you’re looking to create something different, reach out to us to discuss your idea. We’ll assess feasibility and provide an estimate for any design and fabrication fees associated with making structural changes.

Whether you go standard or custom, our team is here to make sure the result fits your needs and reflects CABN’s commitment to high performance and sustainability.

What type of foundation does a CABN sit on?

CABN units are designed to be flexible and can be installed on a variety of foundation types—including helical piles, slab-on-grade, and full basements. The best foundation for your project depends on your site conditions, soil type, climate, and project goals.

We recommend working with a local foundation engineer to determine the most suitable strategy for your property. Their recommendations will help ensure a smooth and successful delivery of your CABN and ensure long-term durability and performance.

Process & Timeline

How long does it take to get a CABN?

 Depending on model, customization, and site readiness, delivery can occur in as little as 8-12 months from order confirmation. Much of this depends on the client's site readiness and region's permitting process, which may prolong the process.

Do you handle permits and site preparation?

CABN does not do permitting for clients- that is the responsibility of the client and their general contractor.

CABN provides documentation related to the building envelope. All clients are assigned a project manager that can guide them through the process as it relates to the CABN envelope system.

I love CABN’s sustainability approach—how can I make sure the rest of my home reflects the same care and attention if you don't provide the fit out?

We’re so glad to hear that! Sustainability doesn’t stop at the structure. We can offer recommendations for products, systems, and design approaches through our trusted distributor network and supply chain. From finishes to fixtures, we only work with partners who meet our high standards for performance, ethics, and environmental impact—and we love sharing that knowledge with our clients. Just ask your project manager, and we’ll help guide you toward thoughtful choices that align with your values.

Do I really need to find a builder myself? This feels like a lot of work—why are you making me source things on my own?

We hear you—and you’re not alone in feeling that way. Building a home can be a big undertaking, and while CABN handles the design, engineering, and fabrication of your home, we often work with clients to identify local builders for site preparation and installation. Why? Because partnering with local professionals helps keep costs down, meets local permitting requirements, and supports your regional economy.

That said, you’re not doing this alone. We’re actively growing a CABN-trained builder network, and where available, we’ll connect you with trusted partners who already know our system. If there isn’t one nearby yet, we’ll work with your chosen contractor to train and support them—so you’re still getting that CABN-level quality, even if the boots on the ground are local.

We’re here every step of the way to make sure the process feels manageable, and your home turns out exactly as you imagined.

Sustainability & Technology

How energy-efficient are CABNs?

CABNs are net-zero ready, with airtight envelopes, high R-values, energy recovery ventilation, and smart systems for monitoring energy usage.

What materials do you use?

We use advanced, eco-friendly materials that are durable, low-carbon, and optimized for high-performance building envelopes. Our chief building component is Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) - read more about it here.

Are CABNs environmentally friendly?

Yes. Our entire process—from material sourcing to manufacturing to delivery—is designed to reduce environmental impact.

Financing & Pricing

How much does a CABN cost?

Costs vary based on model, customization, and location, which you can view on individual product pages. Note that taxes and delivery are not included in the website pricing, as well as any other upgrades or add -ons.

Do you offer financing?

 We can connect you with financing partners and assist with navigating available grants or funding programs, especially for workforce and community projects.

Are there government incentives for buying a CABN?

Yes. Depending on your location and project, you may qualify for green building incentives, grants, or rebates.

Are CABN prices listed in Canadian dollars?

 Yes, all of our pricing is in Canadian dollars (CAD). If you are purchasing from outside of Canada, you will still see the pricing reflected in Canadian currency.

How does CABN handle tariffs or changes in trade policy?

 We closely monitor government regulations and trade policies, including tariffs. We work with many vendors and suppliers in both Canada and the U.S., and we’re experienced in cross-border logistics. While tariffs can fluctuate with political changes, we always strive to find the most cost-effective sourcing and shipping options to minimize any impact. Our team will work with you to ensure pricing and delivery are as seamless and transparent as possible.

It looks like I can buy a CABN online—but I can't afford to put a house on my credit card. How does that work?

Great question—and you’re not alone! Our online checkout is designed to help you explore different models, customizations, and pricing options so you can understand how your choices impact the total cost of your CABN. You’re welcome to proceed to the cart to build and save your preferred configuration.

When you're ready, just select "Contact CABN for alternate payment options" at checkout. This sends your order to our team, and we’ll reach out to walk you through the next steps, including a formal contract and milestone-based invoicing—no credit card required.

That said, if you do want to pay by credit card (hello, points!), that’s totally fine too. We’re happy to share our contract with you beforehand to make sure everything is crystal clear.

What is CABN’s milestone payment structure?

Instead of paying everything upfront, CABN uses a milestone-based invoicing structure to align with key phases of your project. This means you pay in stages as your CABN progresses—from design confirmation, to manufacturing, to delivery and installation. It gives you peace of mind, transparency, and flexibility throughout the process. When you submit your order or reach out to our team, we’ll walk you through the contract and clearly outline the payment schedule based on your unit and timeline.

Does CABN offer financing?

CABN doesn’t offer in-house financing at this time, but our team is happy to connect you with trusted third-party financing partners who may be a fit for your needs, if available for your jurisdiction. Some of our clients explore construction financing to cover their build, then transition into a traditional mortgage once their CABN is installed. Every project is different, so we’ll work with you to help you understand your options and guide you toward a path that supports your budget and timeline.

Is CABN available for commercial builds?

Yes! CABN Commercial is designed specifically for businesses, developers, and organizations looking to build smarter, faster, and greener. We offer high-performance, prefabricated solutions for office spaces, hospitality units, agricultural buildings, creative spaces, and more—all with a focus on speed, sustainability, and net-zero energy performance.

Are CABN’s commercial buildings pre-designed or custom?

We offer both. CABN has pre-designed commercial models like our versatile WARE.HOUSE, which can be adapted for a wide range of uses. But if you need something custom, we’ll work with you to create a tailored solution that meets your operational needs, space requirements, and sustainability goals.

How does CABN reduce construction timelines for commercial projects?

CABN’s advanced manufacturing process means our components are built offsite with precision and delivered ready for fast assembly. This drastically reduces on-site labor needs, avoids weather delays, and keeps your project on time and on budget. Time is money in commercial development—and CABN helps you save both.

What makes CABN commercial buildings sustainable?

Our commercial buildings use high-performance, eco-friendly materials and airtight panelized construction to reduce energy use and waste. Every CABN is designed with energy efficiency in mind, and our commercial units are net-zero ready—with the option to integrate renewable energy systems to help your building generate as much energy as it consumes.
